PASTOR JOEL C. ALLEN

Pastor Joel C. Allen was born in San Antonio, Texas and is the youngest son of the late Doctor J. Carlton and Alice M. Allen.  Pastor Allen has always strived to please God in his life, yet realizing “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” After years of running from God’s calling on his life he decided to “Let Go and Let God, and he accepted the call to the ministry in May of 2011 and preached his first sermon on Sunday, June 26, 2011.  He was licensed and ordained by the New Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas in June 2013, under his father. the late Doctor J. Carlton Allen, Sr.

On Sunday, August 23, 2015 Pastor Allen officially assumed the role of Pastor of the New Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and was installed on Sunday, November 29, 2015.  During his tenure the church has experienced growth not only physically but spiritually.  Under his leadership new deacons have been ordained, new ministers have been licensed, several baptisms and new members have made New Mount Pleasant their church home.

 Pastor Allen is actively involved in the Baptist Ministers Union of San Antonio and the Ministers United for Ministerial Development (MUMDS) and Community of Churches for Social Action (CCSA)

Because he believes that a call to preach is a call to preparation, Pastor Allen is currently pursuing a BA in Theology at Stark Seminary.

Pastor Allen has been married to Jacqueline McKenzie Allen for twenty-four years.
